Want to know the most kid-friendly items you can get at ALDI? Here are the best ALDI items for kids determined by my 5-year-old and 3-year-old.
I don’t know about you, but my kids eat a lot. It is so expensive to feed them on a weekly basis, and it’s only getting more expensive. Luckily, ALDI is a treasure trove of great items at super affordable prices. I mean, where else can you leave with three grocery bags packed to the gills for $60? Ever since I discovered just how amazing ALDI is, I’ve been on the hunt to maximize what I buy there to get my kids the quality food they deserve at prices that don’t hurt my wallet.
After months of shopping at ALDI and trying just about everything they sell, my family has its definite favorites. That’s especially true where my kids are concerned. There are things they ask for constantly, and I’m happy to buy them at ALDI where the price is so much better. If you have an ALDI near you, these are the best ALDI items for kids that you might want to try.
Note
One thing to note before I dive into the list of best ALDI items for kids. The only thing that I find frustrating about ALDI is that the stock isn’t always consistent. Although I’ve kept this list to items that are typically available year-round (they aren’t seasonal or found only on the Aisle of Shame), sometimes they are nowhere to be found when I arrive at my local ALDI store, only to reappear the next week. Just keep this in mind when you’re planning your next trip to ALDI.
Best ALDI Items for Kids

Fruit & veggie pouches
Don’t sleep on these fruit and veggie pouches, parents! Even if you have older kids, they’ll probably still love these things. I know my kids sure do, and they’re 5 and 3, so way past the age that I would have thought they’d enjoy these pouch-type snacks. They are a great portable snack that gives your kids a bonus veggie that they don’t even realize they’re getting. These fruit and veggie pouches should go on the list of best ALDI items for kids of all ages!

Mini bagels
Can you buy mini bagels at other grocery stores? Of course you can. But you won’t find them cheaper than you will at ALDI. They are the perfect size for a kid breakfast or snack with a bit of cream cheese or peanut butter smeared on top of each half. ALDI’s regular-sized bagels are also great too if you’re looking for the best ALDI items for kids as well as adults!

Fruit & grain mini bars
My kids love fruit bars of any brand or flavor, but the mini fruit bar bites from ALDI top their list. They love the novelty of these poppable little bites. They’re just darn fun for the kids to eat. Of course, the kids aren’t eating these every day, but they’re an ace I can keep up my sleeve for a fun little afterschool treat. That makes them deserving of a spot on the list of best ALDI items for kids.

Fruit & nut bars
When you’re trying to feed small children, you know that sometimes you just need to get some nutrients in them. That’s why you should keep fruit and nut bars handy, as long as your child doesn’t have a nut allergy. These bars are a great way to get real food in them easily. They occupy a permanent spot in my mom bag for just in case when a kid (or a mom!) starts veering into hanger territory.

Trail mix packs
My 5-year-old is obsessed with trail mix. He loves it. He wants it all the time, every day. Of course, I don’t let him have it all the time, but he’s really jazzed when I do. And because I’ve discovered these individual packs of trail mix at ALDI, I let him have it more than I used to. It’s just so much more affordable than trail mix at other grocery stores and the portion control makes it easier for me to cut him off so he doesn’t eat too much!

Fruit strips
Kids love fruit, but it’s not always easy to cart around fresh fruit for them. For occasions when fresh fruit isn’t a great option, I love these fruit strips. It gives them a serving of fruit while also feeling like they’re eating candy (but they’re not!). These are an easy add to the list of best ALDI items for kids.

Mini Bear Grahams packs
I have fond memories of snacking on teddy bear-shaped Graham crackers as a kid. Heck, I still think they’re pretty delicious. I was thrilled to find that ALDI made a version of these delicious cookies, and in individual snack packs no less! I tried them out on my kids when I saw them and they were an instant favorite. Again, we don’t eat these super often, but they’re some of the best ALDI items for kids to have every once in a while.

Crackers
Lately, my kids’ favorite lunch is a kid charcuterie board. The good news for mom is that all of their favorite items to include on their charcuterie board can be found at ALDI for great prices. Their charcuterie board lunch starts with crackers, and ALDI has a fantastic selection of delicious crackers. We seriously haven’t found a bad ALDI cracker yet. Most often, we opt for the Golden Round crackers. These buttery gems serve as a great base for their make-your-own lunches.

Cheese
The next crucial part of any good kid charcuterie board lunch is cheese. I have yet to meet a kid who doesn’t love cheese, so we usually need a lot of cheese. And listen, cheese is where ALDI truly shines. ALDI has great pre-shredded cheese, sliced cheese, blocks of cheese, and specialty cheese. It’s always my first stop for all my cheese needs. And because kids love cheese, cheese is for sure one of the bets ALDI items for kids.

Turkey pepperoni
The last core part of my kids’ charcuterie board lunch is turkey pepperoni. While it’s only even odds that they will eat pepperoni on pizza, they will eat pepperoni on a charcuterie board every single time. And their favorite pepperoni is ALDI’s turkey pepperoni. They stack the turkey pepperoni on top of a cracker and cheese for a filling lunch that is easy for mom to make and for them to eat. Did this post turn into an ode to a kids’ charcuterie board lunch?

Berries
Why is something as generic as berries on my list of the best ALDI items for kids? The price, friends. ALDI has consistently had the best price on berries that I’ve found. Every time I go to ALDI I stock up on berries of all kinds – strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries. Whatever berries look good that day are coming home with me.

Bananas
I know what you’re saying, come on, Sara. Another generic fruit you can buy anywhere on your list of the best ALDI items for kids? Yes! If you have kids, you know that bananas are a staple. You buy them constantly and they either get eaten in record speed or they rot on your counter until you’re forced to bake banana bread. Because the fate of the bananas you buy constantly is so unknown, you should get them as cheaply as possible. ALDI has the best price on bananas in my area, and it probably does in your area too. Even if it’s just a few cents a pound less, because I buy so many bananas it really adds up.
