Are you a mom who is struggling with what to wear this Fall? Read on for one week of my Fall mom outfit ideas for inspiration!
Fashion does not come easily to me. Some people get seem to know how to dress themselves, but I am not one of those people. I struggle to figure out what to put on my body that is appropriate for the weather, the activity, and the shape of my body. Who knows exactly why this is. I’m going to blame the fact that I went to Catholic school and had to wear a uniform from Kindergarten through 12th grade and then worked in a chemistry lab all through college.
Although I constantly find dressing myself to be a challenge, it is never more so for me than when the weather transitions. I really don’t understand how I’m supposed to dress myself in an outfit that will keep me comfortable when it’s in the 30s in the morning but 60s/70s in the afternoon. And I’m supposed to look halfway decent in such an outfit!?
Lately, I’ve really been trying to put some effort into figuring out how to dress myself for Fall. I’m certainly no fashion maven, but I’m trying. If you’re a mom who also struggles with what to wear in the Fall that’s put-together, weather appropriate, and mom-friendly, here is one week of Fall mom outfits that I’ve worn recently. It’s important to note that these are just ideas. I’ll link exact items or similar items where I can, but I highly recommend that you shop your closet first if you like a look and want to replicate it.
About Me
Before we get into my week of Fall mom outfit options, I want to let you know a little bit about me. I am pretty casual. You’ll notice that most of these outfits look similar – I just make small changes day to day.
It’s also important to know that I’m a mom in my late 30s who has two young children – one who is almost 6 and one who is 3. I’m constantly on the move with them, so I need to be comfortable.
I work from home part-time. On my workdays, I don’t wear business attire, but I might make my top half look a little nicer.
My preference is to wear pants that have a button and a zipper. I just can’t seem to feel comfortable leaving the house wearing athleisure clothing.
If my life sounds similar to yours, I think you’ll find my week of Fall mom outfit ideas helpful, so keep reading!
One Week of Fall Mom Outfit Ideas
Day 1 – Monday – Errands
I don’t work my regular job on Mondays, so it’s often my errand day. When I’m running errands, I want to be super comfy, but I don’t want to look like a slob. This Fall mom outfit of a pair of jeans, a t-shirt, a zip-up hoodie, and sneakers fit the bill entirely!

Day 2 – Tuesday – Workday
I was back at my desk in my home office on Tuesday. Working from home means I usually need to look presentable from the waist up, especially when I have video calls scheduled. Tuesday’s Fall mom outfit is a great example of a work from home outfit for me. A great pair of jeans, a striped shirt, a cardigan, and boat shoes strikes exactly the right Fall work from home balance. For me, at least.

Day 3 – Wednesday – Workday
It was another workday for me on Wednesday, but it was a day that I didn’t have any video calls scheduled. On days like these, I can be a little more casual, but I still like to be presentable in case calls pop up as the day wears on. My Fall mom outfit recipe for no-call workdays includes cropped jeans, a t-shirt, and a utility jacket, plus slip-on sneakers for running kids here, there, and everywhere!

Day 4 – Thursday – Workday
For my last conventional workday of the week this week, I had a few important video calls, so I wanted to look a little nicer than I did the previous two days. It was also chillier, and my desk sits directly in front of a glass door, so I wanted a sweater to keep me warm. To check off all these boxes, my Thursday Fall mom outfit included a pair of super comfy chinos, a sweater, and my trusty boat shoes.

Day 5 – Errands and Blog Work
On Fridays, I work on Sara in Season, so I mostly just sit at a computer all day. I also go to the grocery store on Friday most weeks. This combination means I need a comfy Fall mom outfit on Friday. This particular Friday, I went with a pair of distressed jeans and a long-sleeve t-shirt. When I left the house to go to the store, I threw on a pair of white sneakers to complete the comfy look.

Day 6 – Saturday – Soccer and Birthday Party
We woke up Saturday to extremely mild weather, so the shorts came back out for at least another day this year. I still wanted a Fall mom outfit that felt like it belonged in Fall, even with shorts. To strike the balance, I paired a simple pair of jean shorts with a Fall-hued t-shirt and a rugby striped sweatshirt. Because we started our day at the soccer field, I opted for my running shoes for maximum versatility.

Day 7 – Sunday – Church and Day at Home
And on the last day of this week, I have two outfits for you!
Church
First up is my church outfit. The warmth from Saturday carried over to the beginning of Sunday, so I went with a knee-length dress with a cardigan over it for church. To elevate a simple t-shirt dress for church, I added some pearl accessories and a pair of navy-blue flats.

Day at home
As the day progressed, a cold front moved in, so I reached for a pair of slim straight cropped jeans, a colorful tee, and a striped sweatshirt after church. (Yes, I know this was the third navy and white striped piece of clothing I wore this week. Yes, I know I have a problem.) I popped on a pair of socks to keep my toes warm in the house. This is a great Fall mom outfit when you’re not planning on leaving the house.
