Mom deserves a stocking on Christmas morning too! Here are a bunch of great stocking stuffers for mom that will make her feel like the queen she is.
Moms are often the buyers of the Christmas gifts. At least that’s true in my house now and it was true in my house growing up. Although moms often love to be Santa’s deputies, this set up can sometimes lead to mom getting left out. Don’t let the mom in your life be a mere spectator on Christmas morning. Fill her stocking! And for the moms reading this, don’t be afraid to send ideas for stocking stuffers to your people or even stuff your own stocking!
But where do you start finding stocking stuffers for mom? I’m so glad you asked! Here are a ton of stocking stuffers for mom – everything from consumable items to big-ticket presents that fit right in that big old sock. As long as it fits in the stocking, it’s a great stocking stuffer!
Stocking Stuffers for Mom
Consumable
So, I have a whole post on consumable stocking stuffers here on Sara in Season. I picked out some of the best consumable stocking stuffers for mom from that list and added some more consumable items that this mom would be happy to find in her stocking on Christmas morning.
Hand cream
I’m sure mom’s hands could use a little loving right about now. Winter is synonymous with dry hands for 95% of the population. To solve those dry hands, pop some hand cream in mom’s stocking. Don’t know what she likes? You can’t go wrong with a small tube of Vanicream. It’s unscented and it works great!
Candy/snacks
Make sure you add something edible to mom’s stocking this year. Pick out her favorite candy or snacks and fill in the gaps around the other stocking stuffers. Heck, even leftover Halloween candy works!
Toiletries
Throwing a few toiletries in mom’s stocking might not sound exciting, but she’ll be grateful for them. Think about adding items as basic as toothpaste and deodorant. She’ll love having the back stock!
Skincare
My favorite thing to receive in my stocking is skincare. In fact, I often stuff my own stocking with skincare around what my husband and kids have already stuffed in there. Sometimes it’s an opportunity to replenish old favorites, and sometimes I try something new. But there is always skincare in my stocking.
If you’re not sure what skincare stocking stuffers you should get for mom, I have some suggestions.
Vitamin C serum
My absolute favorite Vitamin C serum (and I have tried a lot) is the Timeless Vitamin C serum. It’s not super expensive, but it’s also not free, so it’s a nice little surprise for mom to find in her stocking.
Cleansing balm
Give mom a spa experience every night with a little tub of cleansing balm in her stocking. My pick is the Beauty of Joseon Radiance Cleansing Balm. It’s the perfect texture, it removes everything it needs to remove, and it doesn’t bother even the most sensitive skin. It’s a winner!
Makeup
If mom is into makeup as much as she’s into skincare, makeup products make great stocking stuffers for moms. I’m not going to pretend like I’m a makeup expert (I probably wear makeup once a month), but here are some makeup products I like that the mom in your life might like too.
Mascara
Every woman needs a tube of mascara available, even if she doesn’t wear it everyday. My favorite mascara that I’ve tried lately is e.l.f. Lash XTNDR Mascara. It’s a tubing mascara that won’t smudge or flake, it removes easily, and it’s $8. You can’t go wrong.
Lipstick
I’m not a lipstick person, but again, I like to have a nice shade handy for the rare occasions that call for lip color. A product that I haven’t tried yet, but will likely end up in my stocking is Revlon’s Super Lustrous Glass Shine Balm in Glossed Up Rose. One of the influencers I follow, Jessica Braun, had nothing but nice things to say about it and the color looks right up my alley.
Lip balm
If mom isn’t into makeup but loves a lip balm, lean into her preferences. Grab her a two-pack of mini Aquaphor tubes or splurge on her a little and throw a Laniege Lip Sleeping Mask in her stocking.
Nail care
Whether you want to help mom’s nails with some nourishment or you want to help her jazz them up with some color, nail care items make great stocking stuffers for mom. If you’re looking for nail health, I highly recommend Essie Apricot Nail & Cuticle Conditioning Care Oil. If you’re looking for color, you can’t go wrong with Dashing Diva nail strips. They brought back their Gloss Color line and I’m so happy about it!
Hair care
Mom’s hair could use some love in her stocking too. Buy her an extra of her favorite haircare product (curly moms might like Moptop Curly Hair Custard) or some dry shampoo for days when she just can’t fit in a hair wash.
Beverages
Every mom I know is obsessed with beverages. We like to have two, ideally three beverages going at any one time. Hydration, of course. Caffeine, also of course. And something fun. To help with her caffeinated beverages, stuff her stocking with her favorite form of caffeine (tea or coffee perhaps). As for her fun beverage, you could add some electrolyte packs in a yummy flavor or really win her over with mini bottles of booze if that’s more her speed.
Mid-range
If you want to jazz up her stocking with more than just consumable items, you might want to consider a few mid-range stocking stuffers for mom. These are items that aren’t consumable but also won’t break the bank.
Scratch offs
My family of origin has a tradition of throwing scratch offs in the stockings. It’s a fun activity on Christmas morning to see how much you win. May the odds be ever in mom’s favor!
Everyday jewelry
If the mom in your life is anything like me, she might need an everyday jewelry upgrade. She’s probably been wearing the same earrings everyday for a decade. She won’t replace them on her own, so here’s your chance to do it for her. These Silver Slim Huggie Hoops make a great classic choice.
Phone accessories
Mom probably also needs a new phone case. Her phone case has probably been through the wars, especially if she has young kids or grandkids. I love the mulberry color of the Casetify Ripple Case and mom probably will too.
Wallet
Wallets also make great stocking stuffers for mom because she’s probably not going to make time to buy herself a new wallet. Even if she desperately needs one. In the age of using cards to buy everything, I’m thinking of moving toward a slim line card case instead of a wallet. This purple leather version has caught my eye. It comes in basic black and brown too if that’s more mom’s speed.
Kitchen utensils
Sometimes mom needs something small in the kitchen, and a stocking is a great way to gift her those things! Some of my favorite kitchen items that would fit nicely in a stocking include a sturdy wooden spoon, a garlic press, silicone baking cups, measuring spoons, and kitchen shears. I’m hoping for a meat chopper in my stocking this year.
Sunglasses
Mom probably needs new sunglasses. She either lost hers or someone broke them. If you want to make her day, but you don’t want to spend a lot of money, this inexpensive version is great quality and polarized! Heck, why not spring for the two pack?
Water bottle
Remember when I talked about moms having three drinks at all time. I covered the caffeine and the fun earlier, but it’s time now to cover the hydration. Mom needs a fantastic water bottle. I’ve been partial to the Owala FreeSip lately, and it would fit nicely in any mom’s stocking. Simply pick the color combination you think she’d like best!
Apron
I spent years messing up my clothes in the kitchen because I didn’t have an apron that I loved. That all changed earlier this year when I bought myself a new Williams Sonoma apron. It’s perfection and super well priced. Simply roll it up and it becomes a fantastic stocking stuffer for mom!
Silk sleep mask
Moms need all the help sleeping that they can get. If she hasn’t tried a sleep mask to help her get her 8 hours in, a nice silk version is worth a try.
Big-ticket
If you really want to wow mom this Christmas, slip a big-ticket item into her stocking! These stocking stuffers for mom are especially great if you’re only doing stockings this Christmas.
Technology
No matter her age, mom loves her some tech. Is she like my husband and carrying around a 12-year-old iPhone? She needs a new one. The iPhone 17 PRO is just beautiful. If a new phone is a bit too spendy for you, consider some AirPods or an Apple Watch instead.
Tickets
If mom doesn’t want more stuff to keep track of, you can absolutely add some tickets to a wonderful experience to her stocking. Tickets to a sporting event or a Broadway show are great options or whatever else makes mom swoon.
Gift cards
Is mom a little picky about what she likes? Go the gift card route. I know they feel a little impersonal, but sometimes a gift card is the best gift you can give. Just make sure that you also make sure mom can actually redeem her gift card. Set up childcare so she can go get that massage or go shopping for that favorite coat.
Cashmere accessories
Perfume
If the mom in your life likes to have a signature scent, perfume makes a great stocking stuffer! I can’t handle scent in anything, so, unfortunately, I don’t have any suggestions for you.
Air Tags
Surely mom wants to keep track of the whereabouts of something or someone in her life. That’s why an Apple Air Tag makes a great gift. She can pop it in her luggage, on her air pods, or even on the family dog to ease her worries just a little bit.
Nice jewelry
If you really want to plus up mom’s stocking this year, consider some nice jewelry. Yes, the everyday earrings are nice, but I’m talking expensive heirloom quality pieces. Consider a birthstone eternity ring in either her birthstone or her kid’s birthstone. It’s a touching gift and a way to really knock her stocking out of the park.
